SOLO:
Gus is the cat at the theatre door        °Å½º´Â ±ØÀå ¾È³» °í¾çÀÌ
His name, as I ought to have told you before    ±×ÀÇ À̸§Àº, ³»°¡ ¹Ì¸® ¸»ÇØ¾ß Çß°ÚÁö¸¸
Is really Asparagus, but that¡¯s such a fuss to pronounce
»ç½Ç ¾Æ½ºÆĶó°Å½º, ÇÏÁö¸¸ ±×°Ç ¹ßÀ½Çϱ⠳ʹ« ¾î·Á¿ö¼
That we usually call him just Gus
±×³É ¿ì¸° º¸Åë ±×¸¦ °Å½º ¶ó°í ºÎ¸£Áö
His coat¡¯s very shabby, he¡¯s thin as a rake
±×ÀÇ ¿ÊÀº ¸Å¿ì ³°¾Ò°í ±×´Â ºÎÁö²¤ÀÌó·³ ¸»¶úÁö
And he suffers from palsy that makes his paw shake   Áßdz ¶§¹®¿¡ ¹ßÀ» ¶³±ä Çصµ
Yet he was in his youth quite the smartest of cats  Àþ¾úÀ» ¶© °¡Àå ¿µ¸®ÇÑ °í¾çÀÌ¿´´Ù³×
But no longer a terror to mice or to rats
ÇÏÁö¸¸ ±×´Â ÀÌÁ¦ ´õ ÀÌ»ó Áãµé¿¡°Ô °øÆ÷ÀÇ ´ë»óÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¾ß
For he isn¡¯t the cat that he was in his prime      ÇÑâ ¶§ÀÇ ±×°¡ ¾Æ´Ï´Ï±î
Though his name was quite famous, he says, in his time
Àþ¾úÀ» ¶§´Â ²Ï À¯¸íÇß´Ù°í ¸»Çϱâ´Â Çصµ
And whenever he joins his friends at their club

(Which takes place at the back of the neighboring pub)

He loves to regale them, if someone else pays
±×´Â Ä£±¸µéÀ» ´ëÁ¢Çϱæ ÁÁ¾ÆÇÏÁö ´©±º°¡ ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¼ú°ªÀ» ÁöºÒÇϱ⸸ ÇÑ´Ù¸é
With anecdotes drawn from his palmiest days
Àü¼º±â ½ÃÀýÀÇ ÀÏÈ¿Í ÇÔ²² ¸»¾ß
For he once was a star of the highest degree
±×¶§´Â ÃÖ°í ¼öÁØÀÇ ½ºÅ¸¿´´Ù°í
He has acted with Irving, he¡¯s acted with Tree
¾îºù°ú Æ®¸®¿Í ÇÔ²² °ø¿¬Çß´Ù°í
And he likes to relate his success on the halls
¶Ç ±×´Â ¹«´ë¿¡¼ÀÇ ¼º°ø´ãÀ» µé·ÁÁÖ±æ ÁÁ¾ÆÇÏÁö
Where the gallery once gave him seven cat calls
°ü°´µéÀÌ ¾ðÁ¨°¡´Â Àϰö ¹øÀ̳ª °í¾çÀÌ Ä¿Æ°ÄÝÀ» Çß¾ú´Ù³ª
But his greatest creation as he loves to tell
ÇÏÁö¸¸ ±×°¡ Áñ°Ü ¾ê±âÇÏ´Â °¡Àå À§´ëÇÑ ÀÛǰÀº
Was Firefrorefiddle, the fiend of the fell

GUS:
I have played in my time every possible part      Àþ¾úÀ» ¶© ¾È ÇØ º» ¿ªÀÌ ¾øÁö

With an hour of rehearsal, I never could fail

I¡¯d a voice that would soften the hardest of hearts

Whether I took the lead, or in character parts       ÁÖ¿ªÀ» ¸ºµç, ´Ü¿ªÀ» ¸ºµç
I have sat by the bedside of poor little Nell         ºÒ½ÖÇÑ ³ÚÀÇ Ä§´ë ³¡¿¡ ¾É¾Æ ÀÖ´Ù°¡
When the curfew was rung then I swung on the bell

In the pantomime season, I never fell flat

And I once understudied Dick Whittington¡¯s cat

But my grandest creation, as history will tell

SOLO:
Then, if someone will give him a toothful of gin

GUS:
And I say now these kittens, they do not get trained

GUS:
Well the theatre is certainly not what is was       ±ØÀåÀÌ ¿¹Àü °°Áö ¾Ê¾Æ
These modern productions are all very well        Çö´ëÀûÀÎ ÀÛǰµéÀº ¸Å¿ì ÁÁÁö¸¸

I once crossed the stage on a telegraph wire
