비록 내가 사람의 방언과 천사의 말을 할지라도

사랑이 없으면 소리나는 구리와 꾕과리가 되고

내가 예언하는 능이 있어 모든 비밀과 모든 지식을 알고
|
또 산을 옮길만한 모든 믿음이 있을지라도
|
사랑이 없으면 내게 아무 유익이 없느니라
|
사랑은 실패하지 않으며, 사랑은 시기하지 않으며
|
사랑은 모든것을 참느니라
|
자식도 폐하고 예언도 폐하고 지식도 없어지거니와
|
사랑은 떨어지지 않느니라
|
사랑은 모든것을 견디며 모든것을 믿으며 사랑은
|
악을 생각지 않고 불의를 기뻐하지 않으며, 진리롸 함께
|
기뻐하느니라
|

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am as sounding brass.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, It profiteth me nothing.

Love never faileth, love envieth not, love endureth all things,
|
but wether there be prophecies, and wether there be knowledge, It shall vanish away. Love never faileth ;
|
Love beareth all thing, love believeth all things ;
|
Love thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth noth in iniquity, but rejoiceeth in the truth.
