(G) Oh my wife and I went (D) on an ocean (G) cruise
Three days out and I was sick down to my (D) shoes
And to (C) make it more forlorn, we sailed in-(G)-to a ragin¡¯ storm
Where we were nobody (D) seemed to have a (G) clue
(G) While the ship was bein¡¯ (D) tossed and thrown a-(G)-bout
I decided that I¡¯d take a little (D) nap
Then I (C) heard an awful noise and I (G) asked one of the boys
What had happened and you (D) should of heard him (G) shout
¡°Where were (C) you when the ship hit the (G) sand¡±
I said, ¡°I was in there prayin¡¯ for dry (D) land
With a (C) bucket and my breakfast in my (G) hand¡±
¡°Where were you when the (D) ship hit the (G) sand¡±
(G) Oh the captain he came a-(D)-runnin up on (G) deck
He was a-lookin¡¯ kinda pale around the (D) neck
As he (C) sat there shoutin¡¯ orders, I stood (G) splashin¡¯ in the water
And I asked exactly (D) what you might ex-(G)-pect
¡°Where were (C) you when the ship hit the (G) sand¡±
I said, ¡°I was in there prayin¡¯ for dry (D) land
With a (C) bucket and my breakfast in my (G) hand¡±
¡°Where were you when the (D) ship hit the (G) sand¡±
¡°Where were you when the (D) ship hit the (G) sand¡±
