I remember very well when (D) company would come

(G) I would have to be right still un-(C)-til the whole crowd (G) ate

My Mama always said to me ¡°Jim, (D) take a tater and (G) wait¡±

(G) Now taters never did taste good with (C) chicken on the (G) plate

But I had to eat ¡®em just the (D) same

(G) That is why I look so bad and (C) have these puny (G) ways

Because I always had to take an (D) old cold tater and (G) wait

I would have to slip around and (D) raise a little fuss
